Four Principles of DPO Teaching

  • Knowing Ourselves: Reflecting on and addressing our positionality as instructors in the classroom
  • Knowing Our Students: Considering and addressing students' positionality and properly leveraging their experiences inside and outside the classroom
  • What We Teach: Centering questions of difference, power, and oppression within course content
  • How We Teach: Utilizing inclusive pedagogies and active learning strategies
